Careful not to leave its roots behind, Bally Ribbon Mills maintains traditional shuttle loom as well as more modern needle loom weaving machines to provide the highest quality narrow fabrics. These are quality-tested and American-made. Specifically, we often refer to this group of narrow woven tapes and webbing as The Fabric of America®.
These products are the workhorses in such a diverse set of products that, without them, the fabric of America would unquestionably unravel.
Our Narrow Woven Tapes, Webbing, and Tubular Textiles and Narrow Fabrics include:
- Aerospace Webbing
- Commercial Webbing
- Industrial Fabric
- Mil-Spec and PIA-Spec
- Safety Webbing
- Medical Textiles
Bally Ribbon Mills produced an eBook, Woven Narrow Fabrics – Webbing 201. This publication provides an overview of weaving technology, weave design, and weave design options. Moreover, it helps to inform product designers and engineers on how to select textiles for their products. Also, it helps to instill confidence that their choice of products will result in the performance criteria they expect.
In addition, Bally Ribbon Mills produced an eBook on narrow fabrics for the IoT technology sector. This publication explains how E-WEBBINGS® are valuable tools that collect, evaluate, and distribute data. As the Internet of Things (IoT) gains more prominence, so too does the demand for smart textiles and e-textiles. In this eBook, Bally Ribbon Mills delves into the wide range of industries and applications that use e-textiles. These applications include the medical field, protective garments, industry applications, and material shielding.
Bally Ribbon Mills continually works on exciting projects with its customers that involve narrow fabrics; for example, their partnership with NASA. In this case Bally Ribbon Mills collaborated with NASA to develop a 3D Orthogonally-woven 3DMAT Quartz Material, for the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle (MPCV) compression pads. This development earned Bally Ribbon Mills the 2023 NASA Government Invention of the Year. Learn more about this partnership with NASA in JEC World and Specialty Fabrics Review.
Bally Ribbon Mills has woven narrow fabric harness webbing on planet Mars. The woven textile reinforcement tensile structure was a component for NASA’s Mars rovers.
